Hulls Cove Sculpture Garden & The Edward Brewer Home

Nestled along Breakneck Road in Hulls Cove, Maine, the Hulls Cove Sculpture Garden is a peaceful outdoor space filled with eclectic sculptures and surrounded by nature. Its southern edge adjoins the Breakneck Stream and Acadia National Park. On its North side is the Edward Brewer House.

Here is a sampling of the artwork you will discover on display in the gardens and along the Breakneck Road.

The Sculpture Garden, which is right outside of Bar Harbor, was founded in 1990 by H.G. “Skip” Brack, a tool historian and art lover.

Skip is the owner of the famous Liberty Tool Company in Liberty, Maine, which has been open now for 55 years. He is also the founder of the Davistown Museum. His vision was to create a space where tools, art, and history could intersect.

Originally home to the Hulls Cove Tool Barn, the property evolved into the Sculpture Garden in 2000. For decades, it served as both a creative and educational space for visitors interested in traditional tools and modern art. Although the Davistown Museum closed in 2023 following Skip’s retirement, the sculpture garden remains open to the public as a public art park and tribute to his legacy. We would like to open the Tool Barn back up at some point in the future.

A number of sculptures have been added since 2024, and we hope to add more installations in late 2025 and 2026. If you have a sculpture you would like to display in the gardens, please contact Kristen at Libertytoolcompany@gmail.com. We may consider adding sculptures that are for sale next year.

Visitors are welcome to explore the grounds during daylight hours. The garden is self-guided, quiet, and ever-changing — a unique blend of natural beauty and human creativity.
